What a fantastic summer we’ve had, all this sunshine has been more than welcome and I’ve realised I’m definitely a fair weather person. Not quite sure what I’m going to do in the winter but hey!
For me, it has been such a nice change to wake up in the morning with the sun shining through the curtains, and not just the occasional morning but for weeks and weeks. To go out for a morning cycle to the beach, the waves rolling into the sand gloriously, or to take a walk up the hill to the viewpoint and look across to the distant view of the mountains – and all this without having to consider taking a coat!
Then breakfast on the patio in shorts and vest top, cat at my side and butterflies relaxing in the buddleia – and all this before I go to work!
It’s these memories, these mini morning adventures I’ll keep with me as the sun fades, summer slowly turns to winter and we adapt to the colder weather. How fortunate we are to experience these small moments of wondrous joy – to feel the warmth of the morning sun, see the colourful beauty of our surroundings and taste our own personal adventures…
