Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Desperately seeking Adventure ethos…to have fun in a safe and supportive environment, to discover new places, try new things and meet new people, empowering women and enhancing happiness!
1. Do I have to be fit to go on one of your tours?
Not necessarily. For some of the more active tours, a certain level of fitness will be required but don’t worry because this will always be stated on the specific tour page. For most of the moderate walks and via ferrata tours only a basic fitness is required, we will be going at a steady pace and stopping for many photo opportunities and breaks…If you do have any existing medical conditions you think may affect you please get in touch.
2. How many women will be on the tour with me?
On average, our groups are small and will range from anything between 5 – 12 women, of various ages and experience.
3. What’s included in the price?
Unless otherwise stated, all our holidays are all inclusive so you can relax in the knowledge that there shouldn’t be many additional costs to your holiday. This includes all accomodation, meals and activities as advertised during your stay. Drinks are not included. For overseas holidays, transfers to and from the airport are always included unless you prefer to make your own way to the holiday location or you arrive or leave on a different day to that set out. Transfers on these days can be arranged for an additional cost. We do not currently offer flights as part of our holiday packages as we are not bonded, however we are more than happy to research and advise you of flights available.
4. Can I have a single room?
Yes, if this is your preference of course you can. We tend to book twin rooms as this keeps the costs of the holiday lower, and as we spend a lot of time outdoors we don’t tend to spend much time in our rooms. However, we fully understand some people prefer the privacy of their own room, and therefore this can always be requested (please select single room when completing the booking form). There is usually a single supplement for this (please see individual holiday).
5. Do I need to have any equipment/specific clothing?
All equipment, if needed, will be supplied. Depending on the tour, you may need specific clothing such as all weather boots or waterproofs etc but again this will be stated on the specific tour page.
6. Will I be in any danger?
No, certainly not. All our guides are fully qualified and experienced in the chosen activity. Often we also use local guides alongside our own tour guides who have additional experience of the area and can offer additional knowledge. This also helps to support the local economy.
7. I love the website and what you do, but feel like I’ll be the odd one out because I haven’t done anything like this before…
Don’t worry, this company has been set up for people exactly like you! Many of our customers have never tried anything like this before and often feel inexperienced, however they always leave exhilarated and ready for more adventures…
8. Will there be qualified staff with us?
All our staff are fully qualified in the activity they are running, and have vast experience and knowledge of the local area.
9. I’m retired, will everyone be much younger than me?
Not at all, our customers range from 18 years old and above, with our oldest customer so far being 72! The huge range of ages coupled with the fact that it’s purely women on our tours adds to the mix of experience and adventures to tell, in a completely supportive and comfortable environment…
